In
the fall of 1959, Facenda Whitaker Lanes opened its doors
at a 28 Lane Bowling Center. Originally to be called Care
City Bowlero, but that name was changed to Facenda Whitaker
Lanes, named after John Facenda then the premier newscaster
in the Delaware Valley, and Jack Whitaker the premier
sports and weatherman for the same station. There were
22 Lanes added in 1960 to make up the 50 total Lanes.
Operations stayed the same until 1985 when Steppy's Sport's
Bar & Grille added a new dimension to the center.
Automatic Scoring & Anvilane along with seating was
added in 1989. Steppy's was enlarged in 1999 and again
in 2002 along with a new bowling Center entrance, Pro
Shop, Meeting & Seminar Rooms, and the birth of Game
Galaxy, a 2600 sq. ft. Game Room. Today Facenda Whitaker
Lanes employs over 70 people and is an Icon in the East
Norriton Community. Stop by and join the fun.
Facenda Whitaker Lanes more than just a Bowling Center.
