Facenda-Whitaker Lanes Women's Team Ranks Seventh
In Nationals!
Penn Pals I and Penn Pals II headed to Charlotte, NC on June 25 and June 26, 2007 to compete in the USBC Women's Championship. Penn Pals I team consisted of team members: Denise Ashe, LeDora Jackson, Aurora Petschelt, Caroline Smerecki, and Eva Smerecki.
Pen Pals II team consisted of team members: Lori Moran, Nancy Newell, Sharon Ransome, Jaudona Richet, and Casandra Sheard.
Penn Pals II ranked 'Seventh' in the 'Division 1' Team Event at this year's USBC Women's Championship which was held from April 12, 2007 to July 1, 2007 in suburban Charlotte, NC. The team bowled a series of 2726 to give them a Seventh place finish. All team members bowl in leagues at Facenda-Whitaker Lanes in Norristown, PA.
Lori Moran placed in the Singles and All Events category, and Lori Moran and Jaudona Richet also placed in the Doubles Event category.
The USBC Women's Championship consists of five average-based divisions to accommodate bowlers of all skill levels. The 2007 tournament consisted of 8,710 five-player teams, which competed in the five divisions, and was hosted by two bowling centers in suburban Charlotte.
Eva Smerecki, The Penn Pals team coordinator, states that several of the Penn Pals team members have been bowling together and traveling to the National tournament for about 10 years and are very happy with the team's ranking this year.
